Lois Jane (Ficken) Ehlers

Lois Jane Ehlers was born on September 1, 1936 to Henry P.C. and Marie (Schultz) Ficken in rural Milford, Nebraska.  She was baptized into God’s family on September 20, 1936 and confirmed on April 30, 1950.  She graduated from Seward High School in 1953.  On October 27, 1957, Lois married Rex E. Ehlers at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in rural Milford, Nebraska.  To this union one son was born, Todd Ehlers.  Lois provided day care for many children in the area, especially dear to her were the babies.   In her free time, Lois enjoyed quilting, garage sales and baking.  Lois passed away on July 23, 2021 in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 22 days.  She is survived by sister-in-law, Edith (Ewald) Fehlhafer; nephews and nieces, great nephews and great nieces and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Marie Ficken; husband, Rex Ehlers; son, Todd Ehlers; brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Ardith Ficken.
